This Spring, during the COVID-19 lockdown I have been part of Rude Grooms and 7 Stages collaboration of Shakespeare Happy Hours, regular online readings of the whole of Shakespeare's canon.
I've also been continuing my work as Associate Director of Bard City, running classical acting workshops and coordinating projects such as our recent Sonnets Across the Seas international video project and Shakespeare in a Week workshops.
January 2020 I was back with Life Jacket Theatre Company workshopping their new show The Gorgeous Nothings - This documentary play explores the stories of gay men who were unjustly imprisoned and quarantined on NYC's Welfare Island (now Roosevelt Island) during the 1930's for committing “lewd and unnatural acts which offend the public decency” (New York Penal Law 722, Section 690).
Summer 2019 I played Chad in America Is Hard To See with LifeJacket Theatre Company at the Underbelly @ Edinburgh Festival Aug 4th - 25th 2019. (5 ***** Fest Mag, ThreeWeeks, The List, VoiceMag, Arthurs Seat, A Younger Theatre, Everything Theatre, British Theatre Guide).
"The performances, too, are fascinating and engaging – Harry Waller's Chad is particularily multi-dimensional, posessing a kind of likeable guilessness that makes the eventual reveal of the extent of his crimes even harder to understand."
